Sell tickets. Get found.
Skip the studio software.
Multi-tier ticketing + analytics + built-in discovery for venues that host social dance events. 2.5% per ticket, no monthly fee. Payouts go straight to your Stripe. We don't manage classes. That part is your job, not ours.
What Bailar is. And what it isn't. For venues
Bailar isn't class management software. We don't track who's enrolled in your Tuesday salsa class, generate instructor pay stubs, or schedule rehearsal time. If that's what you need, you want MindBody, Glofox, or Mariana Tek. We won't pretend otherwise.
Bailar is a ticketing engine with built-in discovery and analytics. We sell tickets to your social events at 2.5%. Competitive with Eventbrite. And we put your events in front of dancers actively looking for somewhere to dance tonight. The same multi-tier ticketing studios use (early-bird, general, VIP, discount codes, refund windows) is what venues use here, minus the studio admin scaffolding nobody asked for.
Many venues host classes during their events . A 30-minute beginner lesson before a Saturday social, a workshop tacked onto a festival weekend. Those classes aren't run through Bailar; they're part of the event ticket. We don't track who attended the lesson, who passed, or what their progress is. The class is the venue's. The ticket is ours. Everyone keeps their own job. Social classes are never through Bailar.
Ticketing + analytics + discovery, in one place
Multi-tier ticketing
Early Bird, General, VIP. Set qty + price + on-sale window per tier. Tiers sell in order; we surface 'Sold out' the moment a tier hits qty. Discount codes (percent or flat) ship in the same flow.
Stripe Connect, your payouts
Money goes straight to your Stripe account on every sale via destination charges. Bailar takes the per-ticket fee as application_fee_amount; you keep the rest, on Stripe's standard payout schedule.
Refund windows you set
1h, 24h, 48h, 1 week, or no refunds. Per event. Buyers can self-refund inside the window; you can override anytime from your Stripe dashboard. The same enforcement that protects studios protects you.
Discovery, not just a sales pipe
Your events surface on city pages, in the Bailar app feed, and as geo push to nearby dancers. Eventbrite is a sales pipe with no audience of its own. We bring buyers to you.
Analytics built in
Live sold-count per tier, discount-code usage, revenue projection (sellout vs. realistic 70% sell-through, after fees). Every published event has a dashboard from the moment ticket #1 sells.
What we don't do
Class rosters, instructor pay, student progress, certificates, dress code enforcement, your liability waiver. Those stay with you. If you also teach classes on a regular schedule, see /for-studios.
One number, no monthly subscription
2.5%
flat buyer-side checkout fee · every event
Same 2.5% on every Bailar event regardless of subscription tier. Cheaper than Step (2.8%), Eventbrite (3.7%+$1.79), Posh (5%), Mindbody (23.5%). Subscriptions (Event Host $4.99/mo, Studio Pro $29/mo, Elite $79/mo) earn their keep on SaaS features, not on per-ticket discounts.
- • Taken from buyer-paid amount via Stripe application_fee_amount
- • Payouts to your Stripe account, 7-day delay on first cycle (chargeback protection)
- • No monthly subscription required to start selling
- • Paid tickets must be ≥ $5 (Stripe's processing fee eats anything smaller)
- • Free RSVP and free-ticket events have no fee, no minimum, anyone can issue them
- • Stripe Connect onboarding takes ~5 minutes the first time
- • Analytics dashboard is included for every published event
Bailar vs. Eventbrite
| Feature | Bailar | Eventbrite |
|---|---|---|
| Platform fee deducted from your payout on a $25 ticket | $0 (buyer pays 2.5% at checkout, $0.63 added) | $2.71 (Eventbrite: 3.7% + $1.79, deducted from payout) |
| Payouts go to | Your Stripe account directly | Eventbrite escrow → released after event |
| Built-in discovery | Yes. App feed, city pages, geo push to nearby dancers | No. You bring your own audience |
| Multi-tier (Early Bird / General / VIP) | Yes | Yes (Eventbrite paid plans) |
| Discount codes | Yes (percent or flat, per-event) | Yes |
| Refund-window enforcement | Per-event setting | Per-event setting |
| Class management | No (intentional) | No |
| Monthly subscription | None required (Event Host $4.99/mo adds analytics + CSV; per-ticket rate stays flat 2.5%) | Pro+ tiers required for some Eventbrite features |
Both work. The honest difference: Bailar brings buyers; Eventbrite waits for you to bring them.
The questions venues actually ask
Do I need to be a dance studio to use this?
No. This is for venues that host social dance events (clubs, bars with dance nights, lounges, ballrooms, hotels, festival grounds, lofts). If you also teach classes on a regular schedule, you probably want /for-studios. Same ticketing engine, plus class roster + instructor management.
Can I list free events?
Yes. Free RSVP and free-ticket events have no fee and no minimum, and anyone can issue them (no Stripe Connect onboarding required for free). The discovery surface, capacity tracking, Apple/Google Wallet pass for the QR, and venue page all work for free events too. You only set up Stripe Connect when you decide to sell paid tickets, which start at $5 minimum.
Do you take a cut of classes that happen during my event?
No. We don't track class attendance, instructor pay, or student progress. If your Saturday social includes a 30-minute beginner lesson before the DJ starts, the lesson is part of the event ticket. That's between you, your instructor, and the buyer. Bailar sells the ticket; what happens once the buyer walks in is your call. Social classes are never run through Bailar.
What happens when a tier sells out?
Buyers see 'Sold out' on that tier and can move to the next one (e.g., from Early Bird to General). If every tier hits its quantity, you can opt the event into a waitlist and Bailar auto-promotes the head of the queue when someone refunds.
Where do my tickets show up?
On the Bailar mobile app feed, on the city pages at bailar.site/events/[city], in the geo-aware push to nearby dancers, and on your venue's profile. Linkable URLs work everywhere. Instagram bio, your own site, posters with QR codes, your existing email blast.
What if I'm already on Eventbrite?
Run them in parallel. Bailar is a discovery channel, not a replacement for your existing pipe. Many venues ship the same event to both and let buyers pick. Bailar's per-ticket fee is lower, so the buyers who find you here pay you more per head than the ones who came from Eventbrite.
How does the refund window work?
You set it per event: 1 hour, 24 hours, 48 hours, 1 week, or no refunds. Self-service refunds from buyers are blocked once the window closes (Bailar shows them when they tap Refund). You as the venue can always issue a manual refund from your Stripe dashboard regardless of the window.
Do paid subscribers really get a fee discount?
No. The per-ticket rate is the same flat 2.5% buyer-side fee on every Bailar event, regardless of subscription. That's already cheaper than Step (2.8%), Eventbrite (3.7%+$1.79), Posh (5%), and Mindbody (23.5%); Bailar's the lowest in the category for everyone, free tier or paid. Subscriptions (Event Host $4.99/mo, Studio Pro $29/mo, Elite $79/mo) earn their keep on SaaS features. Analytics, embed widget, custom branding, multi-location, managed migrations. Not on per-ticket discounts. Subscribe when those features start mattering for your operation, not because you'll save on tickets.
What if I'm not a venue, just an individual hosting a workshop?
You can still sell tickets. See /for-event-hosts for the $4.99/mo Event Host plan aimed at individual organizers. Same engine, no studio admin scaffolding, adds cohort analytics + attendee CSV export. Per-ticket rate is the same flat 2.5% buyer-side fee whether you subscribe or stay on the free tier. The subscription pays for the data layer, not a discount.
