Delete your account

In-app deletion

1. Open Bailar
2. Profile tab → Settings → Account Management → Permanently delete account (the link at the bottom of the screen)
3. Complete the three confirmation steps: type DELETE to confirm, pick a reason for leaving (plus optional feedback), then confirm one final time

Your account is hidden immediately — your profile disappears from other users. Hard deletion happens 30 days later; sign in anytime during that window and your account is automatically restored.

What gets deleted

• Your profile and photos
• Events you've created
• Your RSVPs and event history
• Saved events and studios
• Your reviews and comments
• All messages and conversations (messages you sent disappear from recipients' threads too)

What stays (and why)

• Aggregate usage metrics (no personal identifiers) for trend analysis
• Required records for tax, fraud, or legal compliance — retained as long as the law requires, then deleted
• Subscription records kept for 7 years for audit

Export before deletion

Go to Profile tab → Settings → Download Your Data and tap Request my data. You'll get an email with a download link (valid 7 days) to a ZIP with your profile, RSVPs, bookmarks, posts, comments, reactions, and the messages you sent — usually within a few minutes. You can request a fresh export once every 24 hours, and the same screen shows the status of past requests. The delete screen also offers a Download my data first shortcut.

Web-only deletion request

If you never installed the app, or you lost access to your phone, see bailar.site/legal/data-deletion: email legal@bailar.site with the subject "Account Deletion Request" and include your username or phone number so we can verify it's you. We'll complete the deletion within 30 days.
