Albuquerque's Latin dance scene runs in the high desert at 5,300 feet, with a Mexican-American and Pueblo cultural backdrop that no other US Latin city quite shares. Old Town and downtown Albuquerque hold the cultural core — Spanish-language venues, family-friendly Saturday-night socials, traditional Mexican-American floors. Nob Hill and the UNM corridor run the weeknight studio socials and the newer bachata-sensual nights.
